Globe Artichoke

There are several uses for the globes, when prepared correctly they make a great condiment on crackers, they contain fibre so are great for the digestive system. 

The heart of the artichoke is the best part.  Make sure you have plenty of space in your garden as these plants can get big.

As far back as ancient Greece and Rome, artichokes were widely found over the mediterranean region. It is unclear when exactly this plant was used culinarily, but one thing is certain - every country prepares it slightly differently!

From fried, to boiled, to roasted, artichoke can be enjoyed in a multitude of ways. Plus, it makes a great centerpiece for an appetizer!
