Basil Mint

A more upright growing variety, Basil Mint is wonderful for adding to salads and cooked dishes; adding chopped leaves late in the cook is recommended as the flavour is easily overwhelmed by cooking.
The aromatic deep green leaves are refreshing made into a tea or infusion, and really come into their own when added to tomato dishes.

Like all Mints, Basil Mint is a useful companion plant for Capsicum and Tomatoes, disguising their scent from insects and also improving the flavour of these vegetables by being grown nearby.

Mint is extremely hardy and grows well in nearly any soil and climate, withstanding frosts and heat with a minimum of care.
