Borage

Earning a reputation as a hardy, low maintenance plant. This herb is often used as a companion plant to deter pests from tomatoes, or for its beautiful blue flowers.

Bee’s love this plant – it’s great in your garden to promote pollination.

Also, the herb itself aids in treating fever! Pick the leaves and place in a steaming bowl to help reduce lung inflammation.

The leaves, flowers and stalks are all edible, they taste like cucumber!  A great accompaniment with shellfish.

Care: Best grown in moist, well drained soil. Allow the soil to dry out

Borage in cooking is common in some parts of Germany when mixed with other fresh herbs to create a “Grüne Soße”, or green sauce which accompanies eggs and potatoes in a wonderfully earthy, and hearty dish.

The beauty of borage can also be shown off when added to a herbal tea - treating your body and looking great while doing so!
