Garlic Chives
Native to China, this variation of chives is common now all across Asia, and heavily used in cooking.
A stronger flavour to the common chives, garlic chives have a slightly wider flatter leaf. Chop into marinades, soups, add to your chicken stuffing, mashed potato, scrambled eggs and add to your favourite pasta sauce.
Care: Best grown in moist, well drained soil in a sheltered, sunny position.
Garlic chives make a great substitute to onion and garlic in cooking so give it a try! Toss some into your next dish!
They are also commonly used in Korean Kimchi to add a lovely, gentle garlic flavour.
