Lemon Balm

Lemon balm is a perennial herb in the mint family. It gets its name from the mild lemony scent the leaves have.

The leaves are wonderful in a tea, or as a flavouring. It is also often used in alternative medicines as an essential oil.

Makes a great herbal tea to help settle your stomach.  It also helps relax you so it is used to treat sleep deprivation. To make the tea just simply chop lemon balm leaves and infuse into boiling water, allow to brew until you smell the aroma.

Care: Best grown in moist, well drained soil. Trim regularly to maintain shape.

It also makes a lovely perfume ingredient giving a subtle lemony scent.
