Sage

Sage is a perennial evergreen shrub with many culinary, and medical uses. Along with parsley, rosemary, and thyme, sage is one of the essential herbs according to British folklore. Sage has a slightly peppery flavour making it perfect for christmas stuffings for turkey!

Care: Best grown in moist, well drained soil in a sunny spot.  Prune regularly to keep in shape. Sage generally like the warmer months, so grow indoors in the winter.

A staple dish with sage is the famous Italian dish - Saltimbocca (linked is Jamie Oliver’s simple and delicious recipe). This dish is super simple being a veal escalope wrapped in prosciutto, with sage leaves on top!
