Thyme

Thyme is not only tasty, but also has many spiritual, and medicinal properties. While great on steak, it is also one of the main ingredients in Listerine mouthwash since it holds many antiseptic properties.

All Thymes grow well in heat so thrive in the summer.  This common garden thyme is widely used to add flavour to your vegetables, marinade, soups, and gravy.

Care: Best grown in moist, well drained soil in a sunny position.

The ancient Egyptians used thyme as an embalming agent! The ancient Greeks and Romans also used thyme for it’s spiritual properties - it was burnt to cleanse bath houses and rooms (and make them smell great).

It was also given as a gift believing it would give courage to the receiver.

Sticks of thyme also make a great basting brush for barbecue
